Lugosi

with Restive Nation and Witchkicker

Dublin based Lugosi formed in 2016 consisting of JM Burr and Jimmy Rooney (of the band the Reverend JM’s panic worship), film maker and former Hungry Souls guitarist Alan Morton, and Neal Wright, formerly of Belfast’s Memento Mori. Lugosi are a Dublin based alternative rock band, fusing the styles of punk and stoner music with an engaging performance style and lyrics permeated by a singular humour.

With influences ranging from Misfits, Black Sabbath, Fu Manchu and Clutch, coupled with a love of the macabre, Lugosi’s original songs range in subject matter from alien vampires, American Indian legends, horror and witchcraft. A sonic Ed Wood movie, delivered through the medium of rock ‘n’ roll.

Restive Nation are a three-piece electronic rock band from Dublin. Their unique blend of organic and synthetic sounds makes for an extremely textured listening experience. Their style reaches from many influences of industrial, trip hop and electronic genres. Although many of their current works are instrumental, various singers join the line-up for certain songs.

Chris is in charge of synths and production. His background in electronic dance music and sound design helps provide the band with some intense and atmospheric noises. Timmy is on bass. Having been around on the Irish music scene as a past member of diverse bands such as Lotus Eater and Rhiannon and the Face Collectors, he brings the various styles he has cultivated from such groups to add some unique low end to the Restive Nation sound. Kevin on drums, has played with several bands on the Irish scene including Lace Weeper, Franko Franko and 21 Outs with a keen interest in several styles such as indie, electro, prog rock, jazz and ambient.

Witchkicker are an all-female metal quartet based in Dublin. Inspired by the likes of Deftones, Rush, Gojira and Kings X… and ABBA.

Competition – win tickets to the Irish Premiere Screening of Doctor Sleep

Stephen King’s Doctor Sleep continues the story of Danny Torrance, 40 years after his terrifying stay at the Overlook Hotel in The Shining.  Ewan McGregor, Rebecca Ferguson and newcomer Kyliegh Curran star in the supernatural thriller, directed by Mike Flanagan, from his own screenplay based upon the novel by Stephen King.

Still irrevocably scarred by the trauma he endured as a child at the Overlook, Dan Torrance has fought to find some semblance of peace.  But that peace is shattered when he encounters Abra, a courageous teenager with her own powerful extrasensory gift, known as the “shine.”  Instinctively recognizing that Dan shares her power, Abra has sought him out, desperate for his help against the merciless Rose the Hat and her followers, The True Knot, who feed off the shine of innocents in their quest for immortality.

Forming an unlikely alliance, Dan and Abra engage in a brutal life-or-death battle with Rose.  Abra’s innocence and fearless embrace of her shine compel Dan to call upon his own powers as never before—at once facing his fears and reawakening the ghosts of the past.

Stephen King’s Doctor Sleep stars Ewan McGregor (“Star Wars: Episodes I, II & III,” “T2 Trainspotting”) as Dan Torrance, Rebecca Ferguson (the “Mission: Impossible” films, “The Greatest Showman”) as Rose the Hat, and Kyliegh Curran, in her major feature film debut, as Abra.  The main ensemble cast also includes Carl Lumbly, Zahn McClarnon, Emily Alyn Lind, Bruce Greenwood, Jocelin Donahue, Alex Essoe and Cliff Curtis.

Competition – Win tickets to a preview screening of IT CHAPTER TWO

Evil resurfaces in Derry as the Losers Club return to where it all began with IT CHAPTER TWO, the conclusion to the highest-grossing horror film of all time. To celebrate the release of IT CHAPTER TWO, in Irish cinemas on September 6th, we have teamed up with Warner Bros. Pictures to send you and a guest to a special preview screening at the ODEON Point Square on the 3rd of September at 6.30pm.

Evil resurfaces in Derry as director Andy Muschietti reunites the Losers Club in a return to where it all began with “IT Chapter Two,” the conclusion to the highest-grossing horror film of all time.

Twenty-seven years after the Losers Club defeated Pennywise, he has returned to terrorize the town of Derry once more.  Now adults, the Losers have long since gone their separate ways. However, kids are disappearing again, so Mike, the only one of the group to remain in their hometown, calls the others home.  Damaged by the experiences of their past, they must each conquer their deepest fears to destroy Pennywise once and for all…putting them directly in the path of the clown that has become deadlier than ever.

The film is Muschietti’s follow-up to 2017’s critically acclaimed and massive global box office hit “IT,” which grossed more than $700 million worldwide.  Both redefining and transcending the genre, “IT” became part of the cultural zeitgeist.

“IT Chapter Two” stars James McAvoy (the “X-Men” movies, “Split,” “Glass”) as Bill, Oscar nominee Jessica Chastain (“Zero Dark Thirty,” “Mama,” “Molly’s Game”) as Beverly, Bill Hader (HBO’s “Barry,” “The Skeleton Twins”) as Richie, Isaiah Mustafa (TV’s “Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments”) as Mike, Jay Ryan (TV’s “Mary Kills People”) as Ben, James Ransone (HBO’s “The Wire”) as Eddie, and Andy Bean (“Swamp Thing,” “Allegiant”) as Stanley.  Reprising their roles as the original members of the Losers Club are Jaeden Martell as Bill, Wyatt Oleff as Stanley, Jack Dylan Grazer as Eddie, Finn Wolfhard as Richie, Sophia Lillis as Beverly, Chosen Jacobs as Mike, and Jeremy Ray Taylor as Ben.  Bill Skarsgård returns in the seminal role of Pennywise.

Muschietti directed “IT Chapter Two” from a screenplay by Gary Dauberman (“IT,” the “Annabelle” films) based on the novel IT by Stephen King.  Barbara Muschietti, Dan Lin and Roy Lee produced the film, with Richard Brener, Dave Neustadter, Gary Dauberman, Marty Ewing, Seth Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg serving as the executive producers.

The behind-the-scenes creative team included director of photography Checco Varese (“The 33”), Oscar-winning production designer Paul Denham Austerberry (“The Shape of Water”), editor Jason Ballantine (“IT,” “Mad Max: Fury Road”), and Oscar-nominated costume designer Luis Sequeira (“The Shape of Water,” “Mama”).  The music is by Benjamin Wallfisch (“Shazam!,” “Blade Runner 2049,” “IT”).

New Line Cinema presents, a Double Dream/Vertigo Entertainment/Rideback Production, an Andy Muschietti film, “IT Chapter Two.”  The film is slated for worldwide release in theatres and IMAX beginning on September 5, 2019 and will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures.
